Ben Rothstein was born and raised in The Gold Coast, a famed coastal city south of Brisbane, Australia. At 19, after years spent battling the pain of a damaged retina, Ben ultimately lost his right eye. While he cites this period as being the most difficult of his life, it was in losing his eye that he found a love for photography.
At 21, he photographed his first Hollywood picture for Lionsgate, called Day Breakers, starring Ethan Hawke. At 23, Ben decided to make the leap to Los Angeles to pursue his career as a still photographer in the film industry. After a three-year struggle in L.A, he moved to New Orleans, where he would eventually catch his biggest break. In 2012, Ben was hired to photograph The Wolverine, starring Hugh Jackman, in Sydney, Australia, kickstarting the rest of his career.
Since then, he has photographed some of the biggest movie stars in the world, including Will Smith, Nicole Kidman, Anthony Hopkins -- on set and in studio -- and has been requested by some of the world's biggest producers, including Jerry Bruckheimer. From The Gold Coast to the silver screen, Ben's work has been seen by millions of people around the world.
